Mailbridge (AID019)

This document describes the ADITO Mailbridge. The Mailbridge is ADITO’s mechanism to automatically process incoming emails.

Incoming emails have to be copied to a mailbox on your mail server from which these emails are taken and processed by the mailbridge process. To read and process the emails, ADITO needs permission to read, modify and delete on this mailbox. The connection has to be configured in the ADITO project.

One ADITO system can have multiple mailbridges running, which can also use different processes to process emails differently. Each mailbridge needs its own mailbox to do so. It's not possible to use multiple mailbridges on one mailbox because the emails get removed after processing. This prevents the same email from being accidentally processed twice. In standard Customizing, the mailbridge reads the emails and generates activities that are linked to the respective contact.
